Transforming Darkness through Non-Aggression

Gratitude and love are non aggressive actions. This seems pretty straight forward but for some reason, it took me a while to figure out. Love does not aggressively or forcefully remove hatred or darkness, but rather offers that hatred and darkness the opportunity to come into love. In love is understanding, acceptance, transformation, and peace. When healing, I used to try to use love to force out the darkness with hatred for the darkness. I have come to understand that when the darkness offers resistance to the love and light, it is because the intention is not right. The darkness within ourselves is an opportunity to bring a deeper love into ourselves. When I attempted to condemn darkness to more darkness it only grew. But when I offer the darkness a chance to be made new in love and understanding and gave thanks for its revealing of where care is needed, powerful things have happened and deep healings can take place.
Love is not aggressive but embracing. Gratitude can change perspective.
